Welcome to Community Church Ramsgate in Thanet
Here at CCR we don’t really think church is about buildings. It’s not about summer fetes or funerals.
Church isn’t an event to attend, it’s a community to be part of; centred around the person and work of Jesus.
WHO WE ARE
You’ll always hear us going on about three priorities. We like to call them UP, IN and OUT.
In response to the gospel our vision is to fill Thanet with devoted disciples of Jesus who love God (UP), love one another (IN) and love their neighbour (OUT).
Firstly – we are worshippers; transformed and fuelled by the grace of God in Jesus. We strive to love God with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength (Luke 10:27)
Secondly – we are family; God’s adopted children. The bible is full of all the ways the church is called to love, care for, encourage, and serve one another (John 13:34).
Lastly – everyone’s a witness. We want to love our neighbour in word and deed as we seek to care for the least, the last, and the lost (Matt 28:19-20).
Our church in Thanet started in 2011 with about 12 of us in someone’s living room. We then met in Newington Primary school for many years, before God blessed us with our own building; The Corner in 2017.
CCR is proud to be part of Relational Mission – a growing family of churches who are committed to seeing lives and communities transformed by the grace of God all over the world. This is part of an even larger family of New Frontiers churches.
CCR meet at The Corner on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month.
On the 2nd Sunday of each month we’ll meet in a bigger venue with our sister churches in Margate and Broadstairs.
And on the 4th Sunday of each month we have started to meet in people’s homes.
On Sundays at the Corner, we meet at 10.30am. We drink tea/coffee, sing, pray, open God’s word, and celebrate communion. Then drink more tea/coffee and hang out. You don’t need to dress up, just be yourself. Children and families are welcome, with some activities laid on for kids during the sermon. Come join us, we’d love to see you.
